Is parasite SEO "site reputation abuse"?

Its the most common question under my posts, so lets look at what Google actually says..

Site reputation abuse = third party pages published on an established site to borrow its ranking signals. 

Think coupon sections on news sites.

Google lists sites designed for user generated content as NOT site reputation abuse.

Your own LinkedIn post, Facebook post, YouTube video or a Google Site is user generated content. Thats what those platforms are built for.

The risk when posting to social media etc isnt a penalty. Its a platform losing rankings in the next update. 

For example, Google just pulled back the Google Sites boost from September.

Thats also why I never just rely on one parasite:

My website takes one spot

Parasites take the other spots

Every parasite points back to my site
